Pretty easy money for VG, will be interesting to see if other 1.6 teams decide to play at this event.

Looks good. Lots of prize money, I'm hoping that will convince a lot of current Euro 1.6 and Source teams to attend o:

The amount of prize money isn't unheard of, especially for a new title. I'm not insinuating that I think CS:GO will fail or anything like that, I don't think that's really an option. From what I understand, a lot of money is being pumped into GO, I'm positive that in the eyes of many stakeholders it _CANNOT_ fail. I just don't really find this extraordinary or surprising, especially after CGS/WCG'08/WSVG etc.

Try 5 years, first public release of promod was 07 some time. Agree with what you're saying though, promod missed the boat. The promod staff maintain that they can adapt the mod for any engine so it will be interesting to see if they attempt to apply the mod to the CS:GO engine.

Pretty sure it already is on the 'CSGO engine', which is the Portal 2 version of the source engine. Could be wrong though

Yeh but theres different updated versions of the source engine - The original one from HL2/CSS, the orange box one, and the portal 2 one (which csgo/csp are both currently on as far as im aware)
